Hello Land Stewards and Conservation Volunteers,
Please join the staff of Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve in celebrating our volunteer corp on Saturday May 20, 2017. This day represents our 200th consecutive volunteer month at BRNP since September 2000!
We are delighted to announce that we have 300+ native species of trees and shrubs to plant in our two new restoration project sites and this will be the project for the day! The sites are prepped, seeded with native wildflowers, and ready for the over story and shrub layers.
Not only is this exciting, but the GOATS will be back! We have hired our herd of 10 once again to begin working on a brand new restoration site just east of the Visitor Center. They will be front and center for your enjoyment!
We have tee shirts for the first 75 participants! A small continental breakfast provided by the Friends of Banshee Reeks at 8:30am before we head out into the field. Work will proceed from there and end at noon.
If you are so encouraged, stay for a hike or head down to the pond for some fishing! The fish are looking hungry!
Please share this invitation with your respective organizations, as we are looking forward to a great turnout!
Hope to see many out here on Saturday!
